About the Author

H.J. Nijenhuis

Rev. Nijenhuis (1924 – 1994) completed his studies at the Theological Seminary of the Reformed Churches in Kampen. He actively ministered to five different congregations of the Reformed Churches of the Netherlands (liberated) over the course of 37 years until his retirement in 1989. His first love as pastor was the preaching of the Word and he insisted on setting aside the first part of every week for sermon preparation.

S.S. Cnossen

Rev. Cnossen was born in 1918 in the Netherlands. He completed his studies at the seminary of the Reformed Churches in the Netherlands during the tumultuous years of World War II. Rev. Cnossen served nine different congregations during his forty-three years of active ministry, eight in the Netherlands and one in the U.S.A.
